Stage West Community Playhouse was founded in 1981, by a group of people who loved live theater, and many of whom enjoyed performing, they put on shows at any available venue, such as schools, the local VFW, churches, etc. The Main Stage building was built in 1993, and the Forum Theater was added in 1999. The facility is now recognized as one of the finest Community Theaters in the area. Stage West currently provides the community with live entertainment year round, and is a non-profit organization. The people involved in the operation of the theater are all community members that volunteer their time, including the actors, set construction people, painters, ushers, lobby workers, tech people, costumers, back stage workers, board of directors etc. Anyone is welcome to become a member and/or become involved in the theater, in whatever capacity that interests them.
