During the Nazi occupation of the Netherlands, Anne Frank received a blank diary as a thirteenth birthday present, she begins to write in it two days later.
Soon after receiving a summons to report to a German work camp, Margot and Anne Frank join their parents Otto and Edith in hiding. Hiding with them were, Otto's business partner, his wife, and their son, Peter. Mr. Dussel, a dentist, joins them four months later.
