Ouiser and Miss Clairee, two ladies of a certain age, who coined the term “frenemy” and M’Lynn and her daughter, Shelby. Now those two ladies are a little busy Shelby is getting married, and M’Lynn has her hands full. Filled with hilarious repartee and not a few acerbic but humorously revealing verbal collisions, the women draw on the underlying strength—and love, for each other—which give the play, and its characters, the special quality to make them truly touching, funny and marvelously amiable company in good times and bad.
